YUI [sUmMeR sOnG]
On the 2nd of July, YUI will release her 13th single titled “Summer Song.” It includes four tracks: “Summer Song”, “Flower” “Oh My God”, “Laugh Away (Acoustic)”, and “Summer Song (Instrumental)”. It is said that this track serves as some kind of a sequel to “Laugh Away.” The main difference between the two is that the this song is sung in the female’s perspective, while the other was in the male’s perspective (hence the really really cute guy in the PV).
So there will obviously be a PV out for this in mid-June, probably, so that she can have time to promote the single and do some live performances for it.
The song is great, by the way. Like I said, it is a sequel to the song “Laugh Away,” so it has that refreshing flowery feeling to it. It’s the kind of song you’d like to play on your radio when you’re having a road trip with your friends or even by yourself.
Here are the covers for the single: the Normal Edition (Left) and the Limited Edition (right)
The Limited Edition includes a DVD with the PVs for “Summer Song” and the acoustic version of “Laugh Away.” I’m not sure how they’re planning to do the PV for the latter, but I’m guessing it’s probably the same, just the audio aspect of the video that’s different.
A lot of people are wondering if what we see on YUI’s feet are actually high heeled shoes. Well, they’re not really “high heels” like stiletto heeled ones, but more of high-platformed shoes. Besides, what’s all the hype with her wearing these kinds of shoes anyway? It’s for a change, and it suits her. I don’t know about some people, but in my book, those two are actually GOOD things.
And here is the promotional picture for the single:
(I’m guessing this is the one they put on posters for people to see on train stations and all those public places)
I swear, if it weren’t for the teeny-bit-of-a-smile and the goldfish, this pose would have made no impact on me, or to anybody, for that matter. I mean, I like YUI and all, but the poses she makes (or the ones that the photographers make her do) are usually the same.
Bottom line is the song’s good, the CD covers are eye-catching, and the promo picture is very refreshing (again, I have to credit the goldfish for this).
I don’t know about you, but I’m smelling another number one single for this talented performer.
YUI [I Loved Yesterday]
With the hint given in the recent “Laugh Away” PV, it has finally been confirmed about a week ago that the rumors about YUI’s 3rd album are true. The next album will be titled “I Loved Yesterday.”
Remember the scene where Hayashi Kento was sleeping/resting/daydreaming/sound tripping (I don’t know how you call it) in his room? Here’s a screen shot to help you remember.

YUI – Laugh Away
I was shocked!
YUI just released her new single “Namidairo” a little over a week ago, and now this?!
I do not mean this in a bad way, mind you. I was just a bit surprised about the sudden release of a new PV. I thought she would spend more time on promoting “Namidairo.”
The “Laugh Away” PV is, surprisingly, actually good! I do not usually see YUI smiling for the camera, and to see her actually act cute here is so refreshing. It kind of reminds me of her “I Remember You” and “CHE.R.RY” videos. But you’ll get to see a waaaayyy cuter YUI. How can she be so serious when singing, then go to being all prim and proper during her interviews (Have you guys seen the way she sits? Her back is as straight as a board!), then be all goofy on stage, then act really cute, then back to her serious face all over again? And she actually looks good in all those expressions!
Anyway, here’s her newest PV. According to the people from YUI-Lover, this will be included in her new album, titled “I Loved Yesterday” planned for release on the 9th of April. (Can’t wait!)
I have tried numerous times to just post the video here, but somehow, all the Laugh Away PVs on youtube always get deleted (I wonder why). So just click on the link to watch it.
Oh, and we actually get to see like a 0.5-second-shot of her band, which is a first! Here’s a screen cap.
I always find it funny when her band’s all hyper and head-bang-ing all over the place while she just sits there and plays her guitar so calmly.
And does anybody know who the kid is? He’s pretty cute. Especially in the scenes when he’s not smiling too much.
I found out who he is. His name is Hayashi Kento. Here’s one of his nice shots.
That’s about it! Watch out for the new album!!!
